Infusion — Process Chart III

$39.00 IVA incluido

Printed when you order it · on your wall in 6-8 business days

Unframed, so you pick the frame yourself. Our sizes are metric — 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm — so a US frame in inches sits a fraction large unless you use a mat. 200 gsm uncoated matte paper that will not reflect your ceiling light. Printed in the USA when you order it.

Size · 30 × 40 cm (11.8 × 15.7 in)

They all ship unframed, and that is on purpose. Our sizes are metric: 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm — roughly 11.8 × 15.7, 19.7 × 27.6 and 27.6 × 39.4 in. A US frame in inches runs a fraction larger, so use a mat for a clean fit, or look for a frame sold in centimetres. The 50 × 70 covers almost three times the small one; the 70 × 100, twice the 50 × 70 and nearly six times the small one — and it works out about 44% cheaper per inch of wall than the 30 × 40.

Why this print

Four curves drift slowly toward the same idea. The print confesses it itself, printed under the graph: none of them measures anything. And still they're plotted with the seriousness of a laboratory chart, because the subject — the three minutes you choose to wait — deserves it.

"None of these curves measures anything. They all describe the same thing: waiting"

Two axes: minutes, 0 to 14, and degrees, 60 to 100. Over the grid, four leaves with their time beside them — LEAF A at 03:00, LEAF B at 05:00, LEAF C at 07:00, LEAF D at 12:00 — and each one falls its own way. A drops off a cliff and gives up early. D barely tilts and gets cut off before the end of the axis, like someone leaving the cup half finished.

People come closer and ask what it measures. That's the joke: the print gets there first and answers nothing. All four curves describe the gap between pouring the water and drinking it. It's the most serious joke in the house, and it works precisely because it's drawn with real chart lines instead of a sentence in italics.

What you get

  • 12 × 16 in ($39) to read it up close, above the table; 20 × 28 in ($89) if you want the four curves to spread out and read from the sofa.
  • 28 × 40 in — $139: the large format, readable standing up from across the room.
  • Uncoated matte paper, 80 lb (200 gsm). These are lines under a millimeter wide: on glossy paper the reflection eats the curve; on matte it reads whole at any hour of the day.
  • Loose print, unframed. Nothing to assemble, nothing to wait for afterward.
  • Printed on demand in the USA, one at a time. On the wall in 6-8 business days.
  • It closes Process Chart. With Distillation and Decanting, the set of 3 is $99.

It's a print, not advice. But if anyone asks what it means, the answer is already printed at the foot of the graph and you won't need more.

Product safety and care

  • Printed paper art print. Not suitable for children under 3 — sharp edges, and the packaging is a suffocation hazard.

Frequently asked questions

Which size do I pick?

30 × 40 cm — about 11.8 × 15.7 in is for short walls: the gap between two doors, above a dresser, a narrow hallway. It gets looked at up close and in passing.

50 × 70 cm — about 19.7 × 27.6 in is for when the wall is seen from a distance — from the couch, from the dining table — and needs something to hold it. If the wall is completely bare and you are unsure, it is almost always this one.

And 70 × 100 cm — about 27.6 × 39.4 in is the big format: at that size the dimensions and the numbers read standing up, from the other side of the room.

Does it come with a frame?

No. It is the loose print, unframed and without glass, and that is on purpose: the frame is the part that has to talk to your home, not to us. Framing it for you would cost you considerably more than choosing it yourself.

One thing worth knowing before you buy: our sizes are metric — 30 × 40, 50 × 70 and 70 × 100 cm, which works out to roughly 11.8 × 15.7, 19.7 × 27.6 and 27.6 × 39.4 in. A US 12 × 16", 20 × 28" or 28 × 40" frame is a fraction larger: with a mat it sits perfectly, and without one you may see a hair of a gap at the edges. If you want an exact fit, look for a frame sold in centimetres — 30 × 40 cm and 50 × 70 cm frames are easy to find online in the US.

How high should I hang a print?

The rule museums use: the centre of the print at 57-59 in (145-150 cm) from the floor, which is average eye height. You do not centre it on the wall, you centre it on the person looking at it.

If it goes above a piece of furniture — a dresser, a couch, a sideboard — then the furniture decides: leave 8-12 in (20-30 cm) between the top of the furniture and the bottom edge of the print, so the two read as one thing and not as two separate ones.

How much space do I leave between prints?

2 in (5 cm) between one print and the next is the spacing that works almost every time. Any less and they look crowded; any more and they stop reading as a set and start looking like separate pictures that happened to share a wall.

At that spacing, six 30 × 40 cm prints take up roughly 39 in wide by 33 in tall; nine, about 39 by 51 in; and all twelve, about 53 by 51 in. Worth measuring the wall before you decide how many.

What paper is it printed on, and will it curl?

200 gsm uncoated matte paper. The matte matters more than it sounds: it is the difference between seeing the drawing and seeing your ceiling light reflected back at you.

And the 200 gsm weight is exactly what keeps the print holding itself flat instead of buckling inside the frame. A 120 or 150 gsm paper does warp with humidity; this one does not.

How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?

Free shipping anywhere in the United States, with no minimum order. The price you see is the price you pay.

It is on your wall in 6-8 business days. Every print is made to order in the United States, one at a time: there is no stock waiting in a warehouse, your print starts existing the day you order it. If you order on a Friday, the clock starts the following Monday. You get a tracking number by email as soon as it ships.

Can I return it if I change my mind?

Every print is made to order, only for you, and nothing is held in stock — so all sales are final and we do not accept change-of-mind returns. Please pick your size carefully before ordering; the guidance above is there for exactly that.

If it arrives damaged, defective or it is the wrong item, we do cover it. Email vexaprojectcj@gmail.com within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the print and the packaging, and we send you a free reprint. Do not ship anything back without written authorization first. Full conditions in our Returns and Refunds policy.
